Pursuing Happiness

Over the past few years, I have been pursuing happiness. Both in my personal and professional life.

My assignment to myself, with every point of contact, is to consider what can I do to leave each person a little happier than when I found him/her. The world needs more people who inspire happiness and possibility.

And speaking of happiness, I recently finished The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I reflect on my “True Rules” as inspired by the book. Am I living with intention? Am I taking in all the little things that bring me joy? My pursuit of happiness is feeling the way I choose to feel and living the life I want. What are those “things” in my life that bring me happiness?

Here's my own answer to that question: Happiness is spending time with those who give me life, fuel my spirit, and put a sparkle in my eye. I feel happiness when I think about all of the people who have come into my life with love and friendship; those who lift me up and remind me to live in the present. My happiness list goes on and on – how lucky and I? I continue to be grateful ...

The Inspiration of Culture

I have been blessed with many opportunities to see end experience all kinds of cultures. Through my own personal travels to experiencing cultures within varies organizations; culture is everywhere.Observing the differences in people all over the world and reflecting on the importance of each person who I have crossed paths with has molded and shaped me.  There is something new to learn everyday. If we open our hearts and minds, we can allow people to speak life into us in ways we may not have previously pictured.

Culture is something I have a passion for. Whether that is workplace culture or the culture of people I have met and come to admire across the world, I am always fascinated by how diverse cultures can be.

In my professional life, I love to explore how I can contribute to making the company culture I am apart of better. How can I inspire other team members? I think the possibilities are endless; you just have to pay attention to what sets apart your companies culture and how team members relate and thrive off each other. There is always room for growth.
